    Executive Director, Kristine Howze Moore

    As Executive Director of Buren-Douglass Neighborhood Center, Kristine leads programs that strengthen community wellness, connection, and growth. She oversees BDNC’s historic educational building and Educational Wellness Garden, helping create spaces that nurture purpose, belonging, and healthier living.

    Grounded in her faith and over 20 years of experience in social services, Kristine is deeply committed to supporting youth, adults, and underserved families. Her background as a case manager and youth service worker spans developmental disabilities, homelessness support, and substance use services, always centered in dignity and compassion.

    Kristine is actively involved in her church community, serving on the trustee board and as youth director at Buren Chapel AME, where she grew up. She is also a proud mother of two daughters—one a recent criminal justice graduate and the other a college athlete.

    President, Aaron Reddick

    Vice President, Linda Rockmore

    Linda Rockmore serves as Vice President of the Buren-Douglass Neighborhood Center and holds leadership roles at Buren Chapel AME Church as secretary and steward board member. She is a retired administrator with over 40 years of diverse work experience, including a decade with the Veterans Affairs Health Department. Linda is a lifelong Missourian who loves outdoor activities, music, genealogy, and giving back to her community. Her encouragement to others: “Don’t let anyone stop you from being whatever you would like to be or do. Always have the ‘Yes, you can do it’ attitude.”

    Member, Larry Houston

    As a member of the Buren-Douglass Neighborhood Center Board, Larry brings a lifetime of practical experience, integrity, and dedication to service. His commitment to faith, community, and collaborative leadership continues to positively impact those he serves.

    Originally born in Brownsville, TN, Larry Houston made his home in Festus, Missouri, where he built both his career and community roots. He was employed by Ardagh Glass Corp., Inc., serving as a process handler and forklift driver before retiring in 2021.

    Deeply grounded in faith and service, Larry is an active member of Buren Chapel AME Church in both Herculaneum and Festus, serving in multiple leadership roles, including Lay President and Trustee.

    Outside of serving in church and BDNC, Larry enjoys hunting, fishing, walking, and cooking—interests that reflect his appreciation for nature, family, and fellowship.

    Member, Ron Harrington

    Festus, Mo. resident. and retired Warehouse Supervisor with 40 years @ Union Electric/Ameren Missouri, specializing in issuing transformers and other material used to restore power to homes after storms. Current President of the Douglass Alumni Association which gives (2)$2,500 scholarships to minority students every year. Founding Member of the Douglass High Museum Project. Seeking grants to build a Black History Museum in Festus, Mo.

    Married (Stepheny) father of one daughter (Regina). Enjoys reading, studying history and volunteering for projects that help those in need.
